Brazilian Professor of Philosophy at the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ), specializing in ethics, political philosophy, the evolutionary foundations of morality, and social inequalities.

I earned my BA in Philosophy from UNICAMP (1999–2003), a Licentiate in Biological Sciences from Universidade Cruzeiro do Sul (2018–2021), and both my Master's (2003–2005) and PhD (2005–2009) in Ethics and Political Philosophy from PUCRS. This included a doctoral research stay (CAPES scholarship) at the École Normale Supérieure (Paris, 2006–2007). After a postdoc in Philosophy at PUCRS (2010–2011), I am currently completing a postdoctoral fellowship in Medicine at the University of São Paulo (2025–2026).

My research explores how concepts of morality and justice bridge the contractualist tradition and the evolutionary sciences, alongside the metabolic impacts of social inequalities.

As coordinator of two research groups, I host my academic publications, lecture slides, and course materials here. My full academic record is available on my Currículo Lattes.
